Over the past decade, the population and economic growth in the Denver region and throughout Colorado has led to a critical shortage of affordable rental homes, particularly for low-income residents.
On Friday, February 24th Harvard sociologist Matthew Desmond, author of the best-selling book Evicted, will be in Denver to headline the “Forum for the First,” an event that discusses the housing insecurity crisis in our region, its impact on workers, families, and children, and what can be done to overcome it.
Please join Enterprise Community Partners and Make Room Colorado at the Denver Art Museum for a dynamic discussion led by Tina Griego, Managing Editor for “The Colorado Independent,” that will feature leaders from our community, business, non-profit, and government sectors reacting to Matthew Desmond’s remarks, discussing the region’s affordable housing crisis and what can be done to ensure that the Denver region continues to be a place that welcomes diversity and provides opportunities for families at all income levels.
The Forum is sold out, but, please consider joining us immediately afterwards for a reception in Schlessman Hall. The reception will be held from 3-5 p.m.
