Make Room, Inc. is a national nonprofit organization working to make sure that all renters have access to a quality home they can afford. Throughout this policy, Make Room (TM), may be referred to as “we”, “us”, and “our”.

We are committed to protecting your privacy to our best ability. In order to promote Make Room, provide you with a pleasant website experience and useful information on rental housing crisis and solutions, we occasionally ask for information about you. Below, you will find descriptions of the instances when the website requires and/or requests information from you, and how this will benefit you.



Email Alerts and Notifications
You will occasionally have the opportunity to receive email alerts and notifications about new content on the website and other important news and information. If you opt in to this service, we will need to know your email address as well as some pertinent information about you related to the type of information you would like to receive.

Emailing Content
You will be able to email content you find on our website to a friend or peer. To do this, we need to know your name and email address and the recipient’s email address. None of this information is retained by Make Room after the email has been sent.

Use of Information
We will strictly internally use the information that we collect when you subscribe to one of our services. We will use the information solely for the purpose of enhancing your experience on the Site, supplying useful information from us and other partners in the community development industry, and other online services. Occasionally, with you prior consent, we will provide you with information of value on behalf of our partners in the industry. We will not sell any personal information collected on our website. Usage Data
We use a tool called Google Analytics to collect information about use of our Site. Google Analytics is described as “a web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how visitors engage with their website. Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so they can improve it. Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors.”

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to track visitor interactions. Cookies are small files stored on the hard drive of your computer. This file only identifies your computer to our Site enabling our Site to recognize you when you return to the Site so that it can remember your preferences and personal settings. Browsers do not share first-party cookies across domains.

Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visit to our website is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy respectively.

There is also a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on which communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) to indicate that information about the website visit should not be sent to Google Analytics.
